Bio - Leon Louder (Montreal)

Montreal-based producer Leon Louder has been making house records since 2003, when he took a minor risk and dropped two thousand bucks to start up a tiny imprint called Melted Dubs. His first record garnered interest from key players like Fred Everything and Inland Knights. Leon’s first release, with Rob Brown, was signed to OAE in 2003 and was later licensed to OM for a “San Francisco Sessions” mix by JT Donaldson and Lance Desardi. Leon sees himself as part of a growing number of new-school house producers who are combining the technical sophistication and trickery of 21st century dance music with the unpretentious flow and soul of old disco and mid-‘90s Chicago house. His background as an amateur musician and fanatical obsession with sampling anything and everything combine to make a signature sound that refuses to go unnoticed. Leon currently works as an apprentice pipe organ builder, writes house tracks in the evening and occasionally rides his bicycle drunk and fucks up his balls going over speed bumps. His first full-length was signed to OAE, and he is working on a whole slew of exciting remixes, collaborations and new original tracks.

His tracks are currently getting plays from House heavywieghts such as: Mateo & Matos, Fred Everything, Mark Farina & DJ Heather to name a few.
