Small descriptions this week, cuz it's raining.
[DRUM & BASS] Tali - Lyric On My Lip LP on Full Cycle. The complete new album on double-vinyl from one of the scene's top new up-and-comers. Jump-up D&B and some downtempo beats make this album hot for dancefloors and bedroom rockers. Kemal & Dresden Codex - Glimpse Of Truth & Afterglow on Cryptic Audio. After a massive break, Kemal's Cryptic Audio returns with this neurofunk monster. Opening with deep tribal drums 'Glimpse Of Truth' takes you on a real trip before the drop and then it's all over....reminds me of Tee Bee's 'Warehouse'. Stare & Phibbs - ESP/D-Region RMX on Furious. Big up Estonia massive! The first of two very hot tracks signed over to D-Region's Furious Recordings drops...back with a remix by the man himself you know you can't go wrong with this one. Marky & XRS - Breeze/Backspin on Innerground. 3rd release from the Brazillian boys on their new imprint. More vocal talent coming in with Cleveland Watkiss lacing the a-side with his trademark sound. Capone - Soldier/Massive on Hard Leaders. Repress of the 1st release from this legendary label. The floor smashing 'Massive' still resounds in my skull form the first time I heard it...you can't beat the original amen smasher. And Dillinja's classic 'Soldier' still stands the test of time with it's old scool sample: "a coward dies a thousand deaths....a soldier dies but one..." Various - The Sideshow EP on Freak. ok...here's how it works...I give you the tracklisting...you freak out...ready? Mason & Armanni Reign - Ruff Rugged & Raw VIP Pendulum - Toxic Shock Keaton & Nitrox - The Batcave Cartridge - Light Cycles Believe it. Digital - Frontline (NJC Remix)/Informer on Phantom Audio LTD. If you think you've got this new jump-up thing all figured out, just wait. Digital and friends throw their hat in the ring with a very different remix of 'Frontline'. However...for me, the b-side 'Informer' is the real head-turner and must be heard to be understood. Baron - Squeltch/Dead List Five on Baron Inc. By now you know what you're getting when you buy a Bron record, but check the very deep 'Dead List Five' and be pleasantly surprised with a driving bassline that's been shaking floors on dub for some time now. Skyver & D Jon - Justice/Face Down on Technique. I'm not quite certain about this, but apparently on a trip to Australia, Simon 'Bassline' Smith was so impressed with these boys that he signed 2 of their tracks on the spot....and here they are! Yay. Southstar & Miracle/Menacer - Omega Amen/I Can't Take It on Intasound. If you haven't figured it out yet, this one's got lots of AMENS in it. It's hard, it's loud, and it reminds me of old Metalheadz tunes. Get ready to be terrorized, cuz this twelve is very very bad. Bad meaning good by the way. [BREAKS] Deekline and Wizard - Truth Is A Lie feat. Spoonface (Freestylers RMX)/Body Popper on Botchit & Scarper. Sugababes - In The Middle (Hyper RMX)/(Ruff & Jam Metaltronik RMX) on Universal. PFN - Stitch Up (Live At The Roxy)/(Rennie Pilgrem's Hum Mix) on 10 Kilo. AKA Proper Filthy Naughty. Karton - Fire Fucker/Invincible Mix on SoundNotScene. Stereo 8 - Can't Stop/Flipmode on Finger Lickin'. There's more coming on friday so start saving your money. Try buying those 'Dainty' brand rice thingies....they rock. Pilaf flavour is the best I think. Corey DNA Records 28 Pine Ave East (514)288-9DNA [ www.dnarecords.com ] |

I just noticed that I have ONE copy left of the limited bootleg remix of Prodigy's 'Outta Space' which has a sick breaks mix on one side and hard-step d&b mix on the flip. First come first served.
