it says they based their findings on the method of taking people's weight and compairing it to their height..
i really don't agree with that method..

| yeah i read it it i dunno last year sarahs dad asked me my weight and height etc and i got a 25 bmi and he told me i was at risk for heart disease or something bad
i dont like bmi either but its true that there are many obese people around |

| i think becasue of the high obeisity rates they're just gonna scooch the scales over slightly so that the numbers miraculously 'go down'..
i don't mind bmi, but only coz i'm "normal"
then again, when skinny bitches like my sister and her friends are considered "normal" by society they're actually "underweight" (according to the bmi) i think there's a problem too. |

| like i said in some other thread:
BMI (body mass index) is a load of shit.
there are so many factors that they leave out - including, but not limited to:
a) muscle weighs more than fat, you can be fit and weigh 200lbs and look skinnier than someone who weighs 180 and isn't fit
b) people have different body and bone structures. bone has weight. you can be short and thick boned and not fat and considered obese according to BMI.
c) according to BMI, i'm a fatass. am i a fatass?
