This coming Monday is the third installment of Dr. Octobal's Mashup Monday Madness. It's a monthly at Blizzarts that features local DJs performing blasphemous concoctions of house, breaks and hip hop mashed up with classic rock, funk, easy listening, country, and whatever else they can think of. This Monday two of the Broken freaks are comin out to make bad music sound worse ... D.Kai aka DJ Axe Wound Melon aka Mr. Gash together we perform as The Beef Curtain I've concocted a few nasties on my computer ... Lionel Richie over a gabber breakbeat? Yes please. Tina Turner with some Si Begg? Yes please. Metro Area and Pink Floyd? Sure. We're bringin out a Micro Korg and maybe some Roland stuff as well, just to make sure the music is as fucked up and retarded as possible. The last two Mashups have been packed, which is strange for a Monday night, but I am not tellin any lies. Come and see for yourself. It's a night of very very very serious music and lots of eloquent trainwrecking. I might even bring a mike and sing over some of the songs ... depends on how drunk I get. We also have the Beef Curtain Dancers (TM) who will be performing with cucumbers and mayonnaise. No cover and cheap drinks. |
