recorded live at the music gallery in toronto canada during the spring of 2002. this live pa by montreal canada's very own naw aka neil wiernik, features a rare live performance of naw's more experimental side. using one of his custom max/msp patches neil's (naw) live performance here documents the beginnings of his use of his live microsampling from exisiting cd material by some of his peers and by some of his own personal influnces. his process results in a fury of granulated glitch micro bite sound manipluation that some might call a sound track for thoughs with big ears or as naw him self referes to it "its my interpretation of what a dj is doing". neil is currently hard at work on new material to be released on complot records, worthy records and his follow up full length on noise factory records due for release in early 2004. for more information on naw please go to: [ www.noisefactoryrecords.com ] or [ www.pieheadrecords.com. ] for the live performance listed above go to [ www.cognitionaudioworks.com ] |
