ask someone this today...

"what is the past tense of 'sleep'?"

or

"what is the past tense of 'dream'?"

so, you'll either get one of two answers for each...

either

dreamed or dreamt

and

sleeped or slept

......

now the first pair is a little more open to interpretation than the second, but this is all wrapped up in the process of regulariztion of these irregular verbs...

here is some links about this process...

.....

some may find this boring, but I find this fascinating...

anyone have any thoughts on this...
I'm feeling surly right now..

i like irregular , uncommon , old engish , slangs from all ages , esp pirate era ,
old french and old latin got me into italian and they have another set of particularities of their own.

ive mastered this form long ago , prolly all french born billingual person are tuned to these more from the french background of forever on going particulariities and exceptions to its own set of rules.

at one point when you shuffled lots of dictionaries and got to see where they draw their limits , old repertoir like cheaksepear and leewis caroll becomes quite inspiring to drraw your own sets and dare with assurance new logical sematics of sentences or words composition that surprisingly will be comprehensible to a large audience.

heres my fav one , think it was in an snl skit long ago :

" LEAP , LEAP LIKE YOU NEVER LEAPTH BEFORE !! "
I'm feeling "god is(i)n`the tv" right now..

Isn't this just part of the linearization of the English language by the USA?
This has been spreading to UK too... and the same happens with French (altough Quebec has not really been an influence on the French language used in France).
I'm feeling the flow right now..

the ongoing evolution of language... reminds me of when there was an uproar about the recent updates in the official spelling of some french words. These people simple didn't realize that their language was already different from a few centuries before.
I'm feeling ultra right now..

it's like SHIT ... ppl use 'shat' as the past tense, but I think it's supposed to be 'shit' anyway.

problem with naughty words, is that they aren't in the dictionary, so it's hard to check xD
