I don't know how long discogs have playlist instead of a single embedded video but this is awesome! It's like having an on demand radio station ; search for a record you like, play the video then a related audio stream plays.

Back in the day you would have to go to HMV and cue in line for half an hour to listen to 3 cds maximum

Then you would pay $33.99 import price for a compilation with one tune you wanted

Thank god they had a return policy, man I totally abused those guys on that one. They actually threatened to ban me from the store at one point hahaha...
I'm feeling sunshine right now..

ya it was hard as hell to find music back in the day. lots of CDs were bloody rip-offs. I'd have to buy some double CD import for 40 bucks just to get one tune that I wanted.

I'm so amazed at how ridiculously easy it is for people to get any music they wanna play now.. totally free. shit I'm *still* hunting for unknown hip hop / jungle / techno / house and breaks records.. I've been after em since I first heard em way back when. and you'd best believe I pay for it once I find it. some of these new so-called DJs complain if they can't find a free 320 that same weekend.

sign of the times I guess. information travels so quickly now. people get used to having everything instantly

I used to like trance back in the mid 90s.. 94, 95. but I just didn't even really know what it was called. it just seemed like big mixed bag of techno-ish music. i didn't know genres so well. I had mixtapes my friend gave me that I used to study to in university - older stuff - from 93/94 - and now that I look up the mixtapes on discogs they call it "techno / trance". some of it was Goa

trance was good back then! music was just really experimental and creative in those days.. lots of crossover

I used to dig shit like this ->

I still like some psy-trance I hear. I've heard some really dark trippy shit that's fucking amazing!
