Second Room Home Theatre Speakers

 Coolness: 509560 | Hey y'all, I'm looking for the best value in a solution for getting multi-room music.
I'm looking at the ScanSonic s4 because they are small, sound good and aren't crazy expensive. Here's the why of it all: -I have a 7.1 surround sound system in the 'game' room at my place, but the sound obviously doesn't travel to other rooms. my place is huge and fact is, I have no other sound system whatsoever for any room in the rest of my place. -I'd consider any solution that would provide me with decent sound in a second room. -Ideally it'd be portable (but all those iPod dock boom boxes and just shiite, no?) Also, I want this system to potentially work in tandem with my home theatre system (and again, my amp has a room B output that I could use). -I don't really want an iPod dock style thing as I really want the music to be coming from my computer, and given this is mainly for parties, I wouldn't want to leave my iPod just out in the open anyway. -It'd be cool to wall mount the speakers, but then I'm thinking that I'd want sound outside on my deck, so I could put a speaker in my bedroom window which points out to the deck... but then like, I can't wall mount AND expect the thing to be portable. Wireless would be best, but all the solutions are fucking expensive and don't include speakers, nor would they integrate well with my current AMP. I want the same music playing on multiple systems through out the house, so even though a portable BOSE thingy would sound great, it wouldn't tie in with my other system well. so I think that's enough info, any advice? Budget is not a big deal, as I can afford anything, but this is a second room sound system that I won't be using THAT often, so I really can't justify 400$+ solutions, you know? |
