With every heart and every beat we shall transform the many into One. Timeless rhythms will take us deeper beyond our questions and answers and into the origin of the beingness that permeates all. To the earth, the trees, the rivers, the stone, dancing into oblivion, merging earthly with the cosmic, guided by the psychedelic sound through dark and light. Radiating the same essence. ALL STARS 2011 OFFICIAL LINE-UP PROGRESS (AntiShanti Records, New York) [ www.iprogress.us ] The project of Yuriy Vaskevich, is an evolution of sound that brings a world of fantasy and imagination to its listeners. Based in New York City, an energetic hub, the music is a reflection of its physical origin as well as the mental evolution of its composer. With a strong foundation in classic music, mainly of piano and guitar and a post-modern ambition, the sound is both organic and electronic. The project began in the late 1990s with an exploration of personal identity and experimentation with various styles of electronic music. Today, PROGRESS, ranges in style from psychedelic trance, ambient and chill-out, to avant-garde and experimental. Having played at several live venues in the United States and written film scores, PROGRESS has a rapidly growing acclaim. As the name implies, the music is always progressing with the common denominator being its inspiring melodies and a strong tendency to take its listeners on a colorful journey. AERODRöMME (Tribal Vision Records/Baroque, Toronto) [ www.soundcloud.com ] [ www.myspace.com ] Aerodrömme is a vibrant duo project based in Toronto, Canada. The act was created by was created by Boris"Shankar" Kurtzman and Steve Chan, the two members share strong passion for music. Aerodrömme hasemerged as one of the most promising names in the Progressive Techno circuit. Their style is an effectiveblend of progressive house and minimal Techno with a deep connotation. Aerodrömme has released music on such prominent labels as Tribal Vision, Baroque, Blue Tunes, SpiralTrax, Plusquam, Nuuktal Records, Air Snare and Balkan Connection; and received support from heavyweights such as Wehbba, James Harcourt, Perfect Stranger, Re-Zone (Toolroom Records), Astronivo,Chloe Harris, Timo Maas, Fiord, Danny Howells, Tomcraft, Duca, John Deere, and Simone De Caro (Binary404) just to name a few. Zentrix (Digital Garden, Montreal) [ www.soundcloud.com ] Originating from the West Coast of Canada, Zentrix has honed his style in the multicultural metropolis of Montréal, Quebec. After playing numerous events throughout the city he has built up a reputation for DJ sets which combine the high energy mixing of techno with the twisted sound design of cutting edge psychedelic progressive. His production work continues to build strength, with several releases on the way on underground psyprog labels, including Selknam Records and Glitchy Tonic. Basilisk (Ektoplazm, Toronto) [ www.ektoplazm.com ] Basilisk spins an eclectic variety of styles covering all points of the psychedelic trance spectrum. Every performance is custom-built to work with the theme of the event and the flow of the night. With a history stretching back more than a decade, Basilisk is proficient in both vinyl and CD mixing, but now prefers using a laptop and MIDI controller to maximize the creative potential of his sets with harmonic mixing and an expert use of effects. A true believer in the concept of “the set as a journey,” Basilisk prefers to mix up the many styles of psytrance rather than stick to one formula. Depending on the time slot and nature of the event Basilisk is also known for breaking into blistering hard darkpsy, forest music, the more sophisticated side of full-on, the cold and mechanical sound of techtrance, and the pumping energy of progressive. Shankar (Tribal Vision Records, Toronto) Shankar started to DJ deep house in 1999. After discovering Goa Trance sound in 2002, he decided to change his style. His journey through psychedelic music took him from full-on psy trance through dark psy to a morning sound of Progressive Trance. Today Shankar plays a fusion of Deep and Techy crossover of hypnotic goodness. Shankar is also a co-founder of Shakti Collective, a Toronto-based group devoted to promotion of quality progressive and psy sounds. Shankar performed around the globe. From Copenhagen to New York, from Prague to Montreal, he managed to shake and rock the dancefloors. Shankar has also performed at Fusion Festival (Germany), Eclipse Festival (Canada), and shared stage with acts such as D Nox, Beckers, Shpongle/Hallucinogen, Riktam and Bansi, Brisker and Magitman, Jaia, Vibrasphere, Antix, Atmos and John 00 Flemming. Plan B (Shakti Collective, Toronto) [ www.shakticollective.ca ] DJ Plan 2B is Tomasz Pospiech, a regular feature of the Toronto psytrance scene and a co-founder of Shakti Collective. Tomasz has been passionate about music since childhood and participated in many projects and bands in his native Poland. Upon arriving in Canada he continued to expand his musical knowledge and interests, discovering the magical sound of psytrance shortly after the year 2000. Since then, Tomasz has become an accomplished DJ, playing at many festivals and events across Eastern Canada including Eclipse Electronic Festival, Harvest, St. Jean Basstiste, Space Gathering, and Faeries Gone Wild.
