A little Public Service Announcement in case you been under a rock for the 30 days or so... this May 2nd is Election day all across Canada! the power to vote in a democratic society is such an under-rated privilege we have, privilege that too many Canadians takes for granted (in my opinion, at least) for various reasons and i this is pure BS (again, thats in my opinion) **Who will you elect to Office is YOUR choice and it is personal and NOBODY should pressure you to theirs!** "I cant go vote because of my work" is NOT an excuse! the Canadian Electoral Law allows 3 hours from your regular work schedule to have enough time to go to vote. Your employer are (or should be) all aware of that fact so they cannot do or say ANYTHING about it or hold it against you! another nice FYI, did you know that if you do not believe in any of the Candidates is worth your vote. there's absolutely NOTHING wrong in voiding your vote by simply checking ALL of the check-boxes next to the candidate's name. All in all, ill finish with this: No excuse is a good excuse to not perform this simple but empowering civic duty we have that many many people around the world do not have the luxury of doing. -> [ cnews.canoe.ca ] ok. so he went to a massage parlour in 1996, for whatever reason. ok fine. bad call. but at least he had the moral decency to oppose the invasion of Iraq. a war which resulted in the deaths of as many as 650,000 civilians. as for Harper, he was was very much in favour of that illegal war, and was deeply disappointed that Canadian troops weren't over there fighting so what's worse? Rub & Tug or not, at least Jack Layton doesn't support mass murder. also, Layton has been calling for the immediate withdrawal of Canadian troops since 2006, whereas Harper is letting the British and the Americans bully him into keeping troops there for *at least* another 3 years. that right there is more than enuff reason for me to vote NDP. any politician who supports American and British imperialism is a fucking cunt. |

 Coolness: 93470 | I'll be voting Liberal. Live in a liberal riding, and don't want a vote split...aka voting strategically. I also think a loss of the centerist party would lead to polarized and partisanship, so will be voting Liberal in their times of trouble. |
