 Coolness: 77250 | Some Rolaids antacid products are being recalled because of reports of metal and wood particles being found inside them.
The recall affects all lots and flavours of Ultra Strength SoftChews and Ultra Strength SoftChews plus Gas Relief sold in Canada and the U.S. The company says the wood and metal particles may have been added during manufacturing by a "third party" manufacturer. McNeil Consumer Healthcare Canada, a division of Johnson & Johnson, says a small number of reports of adverse events from the recalled product have been reported in the U.S. They included gum and tooth injury, abnormal taste, and vomiting. The products sold in Canada are produced in the same site as the U.S. product. However, no injuries have been reported in Canada related to the products. McNeil Consumer Healthcare says while the risk of serious harm is remote, it's urging consumers to stop using the products and return them for a refund. Canadian consumers can get more information and instructions on how to receive a refund by calling Johnson & Johnson at 1-888-222-6036. You can also request a refund or a voucher for a replacement on the Johnson & Johnson Canada website. Production of the product will remain on hold until the problem is corrected [ www.ctv.ca ] |
