There is no good Indian restaurants in Montreal...
It's all pretty low grade.
If you want good Indian food here, you gotta make some Indian friends and get them to cook for you.
I'm feeling republican right now..

I've had among the best Indian meals of my life in Montreal... I work at metro Parc and I eat most of my lunches on Jean-Talon between Parc and Acadie, there are like 10 genuine Indian restaurants there. Here's a short list, with my favorites on top (they're all on Jean-Talon):
- Moti Mehal (mixed Indian & Pakistani) at Acadie
- Pushap (vegetarian and homely) at Birnam
- India's Oven at Durocher
- Tandoori King (mixed Indian & Pakistani) at Querbes

Bombay Mahal and Indian Curry House are quite decent too, Punjab Palace is the worst (but still acceptable).

My favorite is a little further, though: Malhi (formerly Malhi Sweets), on the corner of Jarry and Wiseman.

I also recommend Lazeez, a Pakistani with some "mediterranean" items, with an aaaaaaaaaaawesome nihari ("souris d'agneau"). It's on Jean-Talon, right in the middle between Parc and Acadie.

I know this is all out of plateau, but anyways... :P
I'm feeling the flow right now..

Couldn't disagree more... I've been to pakistan, I've had relative's cooking quite offen and I can say the food experience here and there is comparable depending on the restaurant you choose...

but plateau... eeeeh... the only place I ever tried is this places on mont-royal that delivers... cant remember the name... they're bloody awefull though! Everything tastes too sweet and the prices are completely off
I'm feeling forward every thurs right now..

Ambala I think.. if it's the same place I'm thinking (only Indian delivery I've seen anyways).. some of the stuff is passable if you've got a craving, but it's pretty near bottom-of-the-barrel..

thats the one! Maybe I've been spoiled with good food but that place is probably the worst I've tasted in Montreal... but yeah, it being plateau and delivery still makes it an interesting alternative to pizza or chinese food when the fidge is completely empty...
I'm feeling forward every thurs right now..
