Cash construction / black market construction work is the stupidest thing you could ever do. Although, rod, getting an unemployment check from the government and then looking for a cash-paid job so that you could receive double the income, is much more illegal than my job-post threat. Bad idea. |

The second meaning of cash pay is from the company's point of view. They don't want you as an employee b/c they have to give them rights and benifits and shit, so they contract work out to you as a contractor, either by the job or by the hour. In this case, you would be paying your own CPP and workers comp, and could opt into EI as well. Some companies don't like the paperwork, or don't like to pay benifits. If you have all your own shit, it works out better b/c on top of higher pay to make up for qpp, ei, and wc, you also get tool and veichle allowance compensation. |
