Cash paid? Doesn't sound like a very legit construction company to me. Any reputable company would only hire people with their Santé Securité sur les chantiers. Cash construction / black market construction work is the stupidest thing you could ever do. Get injured on the site, and you are screwed, no insurance, no CSST, nada, you are fuckered...Think about it

I'm sure it wouldn't be as much as with a declared job, but wouldn't a civil lawsuit get something out, perhaps half of what you'd get ?

Dynv, What makes you so sure about that? What experience do you have with the CCQ and construction work and the rules for working on a chantier in Quebec?

Everything that all the above have said should clear this up for you

She said she's 'pretty sure' it's cash paid.

I'm pretty sure it's not since they ask for someone with experience and preferably with their own tools...
So it's probably not under the table.

Maybe the job involves a woodchipper, a cement mixer and a pile of bodies. It would explain the cash part. Better keep our mouths shut or we'll join the pile lol

OK ! Let me explain the sentence formulation : IF a civil lawsuit function I'm sure it wouldn't be as much as with a declared job, my guess was half of what you'd get. And finally the root of the question, the most important part : wouldn't a civil lawsuit get something out ? As a question, yes it's a question ! Since when is it pompous to as a darn question ?

And another question, isn't all owners responsible of what happen on their property ? Don't forget, it's a question ! Hey hey hey !

You'd find out about pay if you qualified for the job.. I don't own the business im just looking for people because i know they really need. And thanks to all the people that actually messaged me personally, it was appreciated so that your personal information is not posted over a thread.

Although, rod, getting an unemployment check from the government and then looking for a cash-paid job so that you could receive double the income, is much more illegal than my job-post threat. Bad idea.
I'm feeling complicated right now..

Cash pay usually has 2 meanings. You got the first one right.

The second meaning of cash pay is from the company's point of view. They don't want you as an employee b/c they have to give them rights and benifits and shit, so they contract work out to you as a contractor, either by the job or by the hour. In this case, you would be paying your own CPP and workers comp, and could opt into EI as well. Some companies don't like the paperwork, or don't like to pay benifits. If you have all your own shit, it works out better b/c on top of higher pay to make up for qpp, ei, and wc, you also get tool and veichle allowance compensation.
I'm feeling a message in a bottl right now..
