Forward Music Montreal presents djs, mcs and producers from Montreal and abroad, playing what we like to call urban electronic music. This umbrella term encompasses dubstep, b-more, liquid funk, breaks, neurofunk, dancehall, reggae, mash-up, electro, grime, booty house, jungle, trip hop, breakcore, ghetto tech, big beat, jump-up, drum’n’bass, tech-step, liquid funk, garage, bassline house. Every Thursday at Club Passeport 2037 St-Denis. ************ THIS WEEK ************ * RED EYZ (OTT) [ www.myspace.com ] [ www.facebook.com ] An up-and-comer in his own right, RedEyz has actually been heavily involved in Ottawa's rave and afterhours scene for well over a decade. From throwing successful events, to performing alongside national/international artists, it was only a matter of time until he took the next step into the production arena. Just like his DJ sets, his influences range from minimal to progressive, techno to drum and bass, deep house to electro, and of course the beast du jour: dubstep! ************************************ ************************************ *PANDEMIC (OTT) [ www.ustream.tv ] Miles has been rooted in the Ottawa bass scene for 8 years now. After hearing the early sounds of DMZ, Tempa, and other UK artists and labels in 2006, he decided to expand from his well known ghetto-tech style spinning as Phil-Atio and picked up the bass heavy music known as dubstep. He, along side bowzer and DZ, host 'Thank God It's Monday' radio show on [ www.streamizm.com. ] After linking up with Rough n' Rugged Entertainment, he now has a full time residency at Ottawa's only Exclusive Dubstep event: Steppin Up.
