Yeh I've been noticing that too, what's the deal with the police killing all these students recently? Shooting wildly into crowds of protestors killing dozens of innocent young minds :S But now more than ever! What the fuck is going on??

Iran has been an islamic state since the shah (king) got overthrown in the 80s or late 70s (forget)

It has basically been governed by mullahs (priests) since then

They control the minds of the people at the mosques, giving sermons (usually hate filled) that people are obligated to listen and conform to blindly. Its like a form brainwashing.

Then this other dude came along and started telling people to think for themselves and then people started standing up and protesting, thats why they're scared and reacting with brute force

Shooting a young woman cause she was protesting the election, what the fuck is that shit??? beating people up, using AXES in some cases, invading and vandalising peoples homes!

And all they want is a recount!

This has nothing to do with the CIA and everything to do with the Iranian people saying enoung is enough

Fuck the mullahs, fuck Adjemanad or whatever the fuck that assholes name is

I hope they gets theirs!

Its a shame that the rest of the world is only watching, but what else can they do??? If any of the westernized countries try to intervene, they will be accused of exactly what Basdini said. The countries that could have made a positive impact by calling out the Ayatollah are only looking out for themselves; China needs secure oil, India needs Iranian natural gas, so both accepted the election results.

The best scenerio is that the Iranian military loses faith in a government that asks them to kill their own, and forces a coup. Sadly, that scenario requires a lot of death and suffering before it will occur. I believe that's whats happening - I only hope those that have died for the cause have not done so in vein, and that a coup happens sooner rather than later.

Its just a fucked up situation. :(

Unfortunatley, MICHAEL JACKSON JUST DIED OMG! so none if this is going to make it past the 4-hour MJ Career Retrospect specials that are going to be playing back-to-back on every channel and on every radio station.

A whole country of people dying doesn't matter to the majority of the population, as they aren't all individually on TV enough for people to get attached to. People only care about who the media tells them to care for.

in the US, over 2000 children go missing every DAY (and that's not even taking into account figgures from other countries that are probably very similar), yet when Maddie in the UK or that JonBenét Ramsey girl go missing, it's ALL that's on TV and people only care about how "tragic" it is for that one girl's family this all is..

When 9/11 hit and 8000 americans died, everyone was so hurt and moved and "felt the pain" that the families that lost someone must have felt.. But when 16000 children die daily of starvation, no one cares or pays attention, since it's not shoved in their faces for 12 hours a day of Special Reports and Breaking News! on CNN and Fox news.

CIA doesn't have to do anything with this. It's the Persian people protesting the election. They were a lot of discrepancy in the results. More than half the country's citizen are under 30, so they don't really remember the Islamic revolution of '79. The Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, backs the "officially elected" president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Neda... poor girl. She was stuck in traffic with her music teacher because of all the protests going in Tehran. So she decided to get out and take a look around, then got shot by a Basij paramilitary thug.

get real

it's a color revolution like in eastern europe (orange revolution anyone?)

the fact that it's being pushed on twiter is all the proof you need...

like i said i'm not defending the regime

but to argue that this is a fully home grown uprising is absurd,

you know what mousavi did during the 80s he was the iranian point man for the iran contra weapons deals (remember that thing where the US illeagally sold weapons to iran to fund the anti sandinista contras in elsalvador and nicaragua) oh yeah, guess who he negotiated with, none other than Mr Robert Gates, who coincidently is now secretary of defense, a little odd no?

come on guys, leave your idealism at the door it's pure power politics as usual...

I don't think the Americans have anything to do with it

They've actually been trying to stay out it so the regime dosen't use that as an excuse to attack people further

I dunno Obama is the first president I've trusted in a long time, I beleive he's a good guy and he's telling the truth

Much more than that Abedinejad guy, that guy looks like a fucking crook and a scumbag, its writtten all over his face.

I just read some where that he's saying the BBC killed that girl...not him or his thugs...I mean come on
