 Coolness: 166665 | love trip hop...the problem is that portishead & massive attack did it best, imo, so there isn't a whole lot of good trip hop besides that. but, there are some decent bands...
Goldfrapp is cool, Morcheeba is ok, there are some Leftfield tracks that are trip hop, as well as some The Orb tracks (like 'oxbow lakes')...and i really like 'backyard' by Clearzone. Check out U.N.K.L.E by all means. There are some groups like that that are considered 'acid jazz' or sample-based breaky shit like Dj Shadow or Dj Krush; they are trip-hopish, and great. The best thing to do w/ trip hop is pick up compilations and pick out the best tracks...and remember: Gus Gus is lame & overrated :p i also have some trip-core tracks i made, if you're interested ;) if i think of anything else, i'll post back... .. . |

( thou very nice , i miss any kicks, too melodious ) if your looking for sound only , weird, new kind experimental trip hot and not break, stuff you could use for hiphop backgrounds to interesting dribbling , look around u-ziq , there is more than meets the eye there, follow the mother labels on discogs starting form him, you should get pre break core era , but yet more advanced than the ambian stuff towards new sound exploration. ill try to pull you names ,since i only remember the sleeves pictures and colors , and not what was actually ritten on the sleeves. i agree the first double pack by coldcut is really nice , it was sorted in ambian in my stuff thou. |
