THE UPBEATS [Non Vogue/Bad Taste/BC Presents/Project 51/Vision/Human/Violence/Ganja/Habit/Cyanide/Virus] [ www.myspace.com ] taken from [ www.dogsonacid.com ] The burgeoning popularity of New Zealand's The Upbeats continues to spread at the rate of some contagious virus. These guys have been, and still are, on fire with release after release of A-game material. Producers take note: This is how you forge a DnB career. Come early April of this year, you can yet again expect only the best of the best, as the 3rd release of their own Non Vogue imprint is going to be hitting shops around the world. Non Vogue has already seen collabs from the likes of Noisia, Maldini (of Bad Company) and also Evol Intent, so you know these guys aren’t playing when it comes to quality releases. Though NV003 - "Ghost Radio" / "1968" - is a solo effort from the boys, it goes without saying that you can expect the above average percussive elements, grinding low end, and killer synth lines that have become synonymous with The Upbeats sound. NV003 is the sampler to The Upbeats' third artist album, Big Skeleton. This LP is slated to be released via 1 x CD + Download / 12" Sampler / 2 x 12" Vinyl EP as of now, and is rumoured to feature UK Hip-Hop star Rodney P and NZ based acoustic songstress, Jess Chambers. The release date for Big Skeleton is set for June as of now, so mark that on your calendars and keep your eyes on the DOA Audio Section, as those much anticipated previews should be up in the not too far future! |
