Ok, suppose i have mean=.6 sd=1.5 and x=4, and I need the probability x<4

Option 1: Compute Z=3.067 and put into score finder. I get .99617

Option 2: Put the entire thing into excel and dont bother finding the Z-score. I get .9989.

Why are options 1 and 2 giving me difference answers?

Im using it to do a project on the effect of tabbacco taxes on smoking prevalence rates and if smoking prevalence rates move with unemployment and gdp after controlling for other factors; the idea is that if smoking rates respond to gdp growth and respond to taxes, then you can make a case that the cigarette tax should move with wages. The tabbaco tax should slide around; the interesting thing might be how prevalence rates move when unemployment jumps and people get laid off - do people turn to cigarettes? Or if taxes matter at all to prevalence rates...after all when people start smoking they're smoking a half pack a week; so does 2$ a week even make a difference?
