were living interesting times, where hackers turn in their rainbow tables for a controller table...

i just pray the fcc doesnt start cracking down on hard/softmods like these in praises of our spread spectrum... meanwhile nobody is taking stand in the proprietary drivers turning their sources only to the big name of the industry ... ppl interesting in my rants read [ openbsd.org ] on left handside they explain the current manufacturer/opensouce war.

sorry slightly ot, but yea, rad mod, this is becoming completely mainstream now, exactly where that should be. :)

Man, this is what I was waiting for as an interface for Live. You can do this with the overpriced Lemur system for Max/MSP but it seems only IMCA geeks buy those and write utter shitno music.

On that note, ECC is kinda cheesy. And the guy is way too smug considering that most of their music sounds kind of like the mashup work of Coldcut or other pretentious innovators. Great ideas and lousy music... meh. I'd like to see how fast they do the mixing, because these guys are usually in the 100-160 bpm range and no faster. This needs to be used by someone decidedly more hardcore.
I'm feeling totally pitted right now..

The ECC did videos back in the day right? I remember some excellent video mash-ups and it was from the early 90's I think..

that same guy (last video) was one of the frist i saw used wiimote as motion tracker /with only software , reflective tape (tip of fingers) and infrared led array around the wiimote (array with a hole in the mittle for the wiimote even a chimp could assemble) hes quit awsome and can explain
the working to anybody. look for more of his videos!

one side note, i dont know why its considered space age to use the wiimote in that matter, someone
could even use a "PROGRAMMABLE JOSTICK" driver, reedit the button and windows could talk with it :
at this point a simple vst plugin and its a dirty hack.

but even so, say REASON 4, you can costom map to almost anything, im shure there is even a solution
to have this driverless, running straight from the usb controller.

ECC has been going since the late 80s... and the Herb Alpert/Public Enemy mash-up he did (originally released on the Gunderphonics cassette in the very early 90s) is often cited as being one of the first mash-up records. There's always been a pretty large variety in his sound, and the live performance that he's put together is actually quite interesting - in that it incorporates random elements and audience interaction - to create something that is unquestionably live.
I'm feeling new records right now..

I'll save you some work (unless you've already done it)...
Here's the info page for the Gunderphonics cassette:
[ evolution-control.com ]

there's a link for .zip of the entire album... it's worth it... Acid Family and Bush Speech (Corrected) 1 & 2 are great... both sides of the Eerie Materials 7" are included... lots of fun stuff in there.

As for Sylvie & Babs... it's a fantastic record (and one that I'm almost positive tradeMark from ECC was aware of), but it's got more in common with musique concrete/found-sound than it does with what has come to be known as the mash-up...
I'm feeling new records right now..
Huh... What???
