Hi... I'm going to ask a question about how to use the train. This is actually a serious question. No joke! I've never really used the train before and I wanna ask how to get on one, and since this place is like filled with Montrealers, where better to ask with my anonymousity in tact than this place!?

So onto the questions... Can I use my STCUM bus card? Where do I buy the ticket if I can't use my card? How much is the price? Is it true a guy passes by everytime to see if you have a ticket? And this is a question I want a laugh at: What will happen if I don't have a ticket and I go inside anyway? Will I get kicked off the train while it's still running? Will I roll down a hill and make it downtown in one piece or two? Does it really go from Beaconsfield to Downtown in like 25 minutes?!?!?!?!?! e_____@

you can only use your STCUM bus card if you bought a special one that allows train access. they usually have ZONE 1 (or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5) printed in big letters on them and they are only good for travel within the zone you've bought it for. i think from beaconsfield to downtown is zone 2.
otherwise you have to buy a ticket before you get on from an automated machine at the station.
if you dont have the correct fare the stormtroopers will crowd around you, have a big powertrip and then give you a 110$ ticket. they dont ALWAYS pass, but they pass by often enough and randomly enough to make it a gamble. you can't talk your way out of it and you can't pay them the fare on the spot.
if you dont pay the ticket you'll get a letter in the mail in a couple of years informing you that you can either pay the deliquent ticket au PC (plus interest and service charges) or you can spend the weekend in jail. if you claim you dont have ID, (i shit you not) they will actually whip out a phone and try and get you to give them the number of someone who can vouch for your identity, then theyll call that person, inform them that theyre on the train with you and you havent paid the fare or whatnot, and then obtain your info from them (usually theyll call relatives or an employer). and if their attempt at criminalizing and defaming you to your loved ones doesnt work, then theyll hold you and call the cops. at this point, especially if you have guns or drugs on you, youre fucked.

if you get caught without ticket, you get a free one from the city, but this one wont be 6,75$, but more $$ instead.
I'm feeling rip killah right now..

This is why I will always like Toronto's transit system better, the trains are huge and mostly empty, so you don't have someone's armpit in your nose the whole ride. You can get a day or weekly pass and nobody really looks at it, or scratches the date on it for that matter, so you can ride for as long as it takes them to catch you, whereupon they just go "hey you didn't scratch the date, here let me get that for you" and it's now on it's last day. But there are far less cute girls only a metre away from you shyly avoiding eye contact and there's nowhere interesting to go in Toronto.
I'm feeling chaotic right now..
