Why don't Rave-Wavers like Bal en Blanc?

Ive never been, so i dunno wut its like. But its been 14 years straight now...why dont ravewavers seem to like it? It seems pretty decent. Is it just the whole commercial aspect of it?
I'm feeling the only rave-waver right now..

I think it's got to do with the crowd and style of music played. Bal en Blanc is the electronic music equivalent to going to a concert with nsync, the backstreet boys and britney spears hosted by Q92, and ravewavers/actual ravers tend to be more into the underground stuff not made solely for a radio-friendly mass public consumption.
I'm feeling the no pussy blues right now..

I been to bal en blanc and I thought it was a pretty amazing party... There is something about being at a party with 12,000 people and not 300 people that would make anyone go wow... The sound is amazing (you will not have ringing in your ears since they use top of the line speakers), there is always a show (guitars, drums, dancers), lasers, thousands of lights... Becides the fact that most of the people are gay (it is a gay party), I don't see why anyone would be scares of bal en blanc... Then again some people just like the feel of smaller events...
I'm feeling nuclear right now..

I haven't been to Bal en Blanc but I have been to the Black & Blue rave (o noes! teh geys!) and to some big-ass parties in Ibiza, to see what it's all about, but it was never the music I really wanted to hear. For my satisfaction ratio, the tickets have always seemed overpriced. And in Ibiza? I had to pay 20 euros for a Vodka Red Bull. I don't mind teh geys, I don't mind the size of the crowd, it's just that the really big parties usually cater to a larger taste in music.
I'm feeling renewed right now..

I dont listen to mc mario and thus have no interest in paying a ridiculous amount of money to go listen to several tens of kilowatts of dance music.

It would make me go AAARRRRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!! X__X
And kill everybody and/or myself.
me = agoraphobiac. ;)

Also, not my style of music. Trance and minimal I guess.. I like to listen to it at home, but it's not intense enough for me to make me go in hyperspace ;)
I'm feeling -__- right now..

Word.

Still, it is impressive by it's size.
Definitely not worth the price though.

I went once in 2000, I actually had a blast. My ex and I had a deal so I couldnt not go... We dressed in full candy gear wearing no white at all, danced on some iron platforms they had in the middle of the dance floor cuz I couldnt handle the throng of Mazola oil covered meatheads that kept getting in the way of our dancing. But still, it was a nice experience.

I was at BeB only once too, and only because I got a ticket as a b-day present, so it cost me nothing.

I found it a bit waaaay too packed, I wasn't able to dance or pass through. It was pretty gross too, 10000 of half-naked people, sweating and rubbing against each other, coz the only way you can "dance" with so many people around is to move vertically up and down.
And I am not even talking about the washroom line-ups.

And like few days ago my best friend told me a story about her coworker, typical Redlite-style dude from Brossard, with huge muscles and biceps as big as my head, who told her that he couldn't go to bal en blanc this year because he wasn't in "shape" and had a belly.
Like, these people actually get ready for it, work out, take steroids and whatever, so that for only one night they could come and impress everyone with their oversized "athletic" bodies. They don't even realize that they all look the same and no one gives a rats ass.

There you go. When your primary reason for going to a specific party is APPEARANCE as opposed to music and fun, you'd best stay the fuck home.

And I don't go there because 1. overhyped and overpriced, 2. I don't have anything white at home, 3. I almost look gothic/industrial so I'll fit it peeeeeerfectly and 4. it always reaks of sweat in there and that, combined with designer drugs, is enough to make me wanna spend half the time there offering my dinner as a suitable sacrifice to appease the god of port-a-potties.
I'm feeling oh. ok. right now..

Well, if you're gay, by God, it's the perfect place to go. What never ceases to amaze me is all the straight people that go there every year and come back with stories of " it was weird, all the gay guys were looking at us funny when me and my blonde girlfriend french-kissed on the dancefloor ".
I'm feeling oh. ok. right now..

don't forget the sunglasses in a dark room, they are crucial! you can't have a blast unless you either wear dark shades or are in "shape".

Yeah but the crowd there by no means represents every gay person, particularly not most of my homosexual friends. I can't see anybody I know going for nasty beefcake dudes like that, and can't understand why anybody would find that appealing. It's like a gigantic Tom of Finland picture, it's sort of funny but nobody actually gets off on it... I think?

And what's with those people who give you dirty looks for your sexuality, whether you're straight or gay? The fags giving you dirty looks probably got their fair share of them but it doesn't mean they're justified. Like it's somehow ok for me to get sexually harassed or to get judged for being straight? Fuck those types. Hypocrites.

Anyways I wouldn't be caught dead in a place like this, it's designed for people with a lot of money and some sort of bizarre cultish obsession with uniformity. To have a party where everyone dresses in white first of all seems pretty gross to me, because I can't stand white clothing, but to top it off with this weird competitive display of flesh and physique just makes it into the least appealing idea in the world for me. I strongly dislike going to places where this bizarre sort of koinophilic (look it up) fetishism takes place on this massive a scale. And I've had a morbid fear of exercise equipment since high school... why would anybody bore themselves to death doing the same motion over and over if they're not even getting paid for it?
I'm feeling insanely sick right now..

Even though all of us here hate it, it's certainly not gonna stop thousands and thousands of people paying insane amounts of money on tickets, drugs, white clothing, headgear, overpriced water bottles and energy drinks and listening to vocal house music for 12 hours straight ( or gay, whichever ).
I'm feeling oh. ok. right now..
