| Me personally, my screen resolution is at 1280 x 1024 right now so I wouldn't mind if the LENGTH got bigger if the HEIGHT remains sensibly the same.
Length is no problem since only people with 13' monitors will have a banner that would go from left to right completely.
Height would suck a bit seeing as how the top portion's height is determined by the profile image. You'd have to rearrange that top right portion accordingly and, quite honestly, I'd hate to have to scroll down to see more than one thread on the page, you know ?
Maybe I'm just lazy that way but, whatever. So I say " more length : good, more height : bad ".

| I'd maybe make the banner 500 x 80, the problem with that is Google does not support that size, and I don't want the banner sizes to keep changing on people... So I might just have it stay like this... If Google ever supports other sizes I would maybe upgrade. |

| Dialect has a point : good publicity will make your party noticed. So far, I noticed *ALL* of the banners up there. Might they be animated or not. Why ? Because they are colorful and tasteful enough to warrant my visual attention.
No matter how big, animated or epilepsy-inducing your banner is, if your publicity sucks, nobody's gonna want to look at it. Period. |
