Okay, I'M Having An Problem With Ethics.

 Coolness: 46560 | Theres a doman name I have wanted for AGES and had kept checking on for the last last few years, and there was a sort of "coming coon" splash page up on it, but real site work done.
I checked on it about a month ago and saw it had expired and checked on WHOIS to see who had owned it, because it was still in the grace period where it is expired, but they technically still have control over it. I emailed the dude explaining that I wanted to the domain and what was happening and he got back to me saying that he had been really busy, someone died, blah blah, and hadn't had time to renew it, and thanked for for reminding him it had expired. About 3 weeks went by, the domain became available PUBLICLY (meaning ANYONE who checked it out could have bought it) so I was like fuck it, and bought it myself. He sent me a snooty email today kind of pissed off. On the one hand, I feel bad, but on the other hand, I feel like you snooze you loose. If my conscience gets to me, I'm just gonna give it back, but maybe I'm just being too nice. Thoughts? |

 Coolness: 62985 | Well you even reminded him about renewing it and he still didn't do it. The cost of renewing is 15$ at most. If he couldn't spare 15 bucks, he mustn't have cared that much about it in the first place. |

 Coolness: 92300 | I'd probably judge his intended use versus my intended use and if I thought his was more useful or important to him I'd sell it back but charge ten or twenty dollars more. I wouldn't feel any kind of moral obligation. Any other asshole could have snagged his domain instead of you. |
