 Coolness: 32605 | right this subject might be prompt to trolling, so I apologise in advance, I'm genuinly interested here.
ok so I'm a frenchy freshly arrived in Montreal and as you can guess everything about the north American way of life is rather new for me. so my question is : is it normal for people to boost about their income, friends and material possesions ? I see it often in threads, people goes "I earn this much", "I know this person", etc etc Also on your profile you can indicate your income and such things. I mean for an european it sounds ridiculous (no offence) so I'm well tempted to call everyone a retard here, but come to think it may be a "normal" thing to do here. I was told Americans are brought up as if life was a competition. So I guess it all comes down to : does money means an happy and successful life for you ? what i earn here is much lower than what I got for a similar job in good ol france but I couldn't care less, material things don't make me happy they only make me wants more. Please don't get offended by this, I respect our differences and being the foreign here I would never try to force my standards on you. I'm quite puzzled by this whole thing so thought I'd ask. mais faut pas generaliser. mtl est justement un des villes les moins cher en amerique du nord. il y a beaucoup de monde qui viennent car c moins de stresse,et que c moins baser sur le cash et qu on est pas obliger de travailler autant que vancouver ou new york par example! mais de toute facon dmt & fuckyou reste a toronto(qui est un mini newyork) et betty haze reste aux etas-unis fak ca rien avoir avec montreal! montreal c justement unique et ca tjrs un havre de paix comparer aux reste de lamerique du nord!(et je viens de toronto!) ps:jai ete tout partout en europe pis c pas mal pareile ou pire quici! peace out et bienvenue! |

Why else would they need to do that? Rappers do it because they came from the ghetto. They possibly came from a family that is not well off and thus need to validate themselves that way after growing up and seeing other people who had more than they did. |
