| Coolness: 158375 | The first one was about a setup between the justice system and a reality TV / snuff network. The main character had to flee a closed-in city filled with killers and corrupt cops. Since the main character was legally "dead", his only way out (and to a normal life) was to agree with the TV exec's orders; to kill people in the most gruesome ways (so that they'd be filmed for snuff movies).
The game was simple enough... plenty of people want you dead and you creep around, all ninja stealth and then you kill. You could take whatever you found around, from grocery bags to nail guns, to piano wires. The more you waited while targeting the enemy, the more gruesome the death was (there were varying levels of butchery for most items). The first game has been banned in so many countries. Seems like this one is based in the UK and already being banned before release... |

The game is made in Toronto. The British rating board refused to rate it which was very likely inspired by the fuss over the first one in britian. Some kid got robbed and killed and the mom blames it on ManHunt because the killer/robber owned a copy. She amde a big stink over her son and has since been activiely workign against violent games. This artivcle talks about that: [ news.bbc.co.uk ] The game was rated over here but it was given AO which, by their own policies, none of the consoles can release. They can either fight the AO rating, modify the game or fuck the whole thing.
