Irony is a literary or rhetorical device in which there is a gap or incongruity between what a speaker or a writer says, and what is generally understood (either at the time, or in the later context of history) SOO, if you're a guy, and you say, "I'm a girl." That's irony. Got it!? |

| Coolness: 509620 | Actually, you defined what I believe to be a different or parallele term. Irony itself means exactly what I wrote above. It was from a dictionary.
I must, however, mend one part of the example I gave. For the guy to have been ironic when he claimed to be a women, he would have had to be saying it as rhetorical device. And not simply as a lie. |
