 Coolness: 57480 | Paul Kalkbrenner is from Berlin, Germany. He currently releases his productions on Ellen Allien's label, BPitch Control, his latest outing is called "Reworks", and is a collection of remixes of his own tracks by the likes of the Wighnomy Brothers, Sascha Funke, Agoria, Ellen Allien & Apparat, Joris Voorn, Alexander Kowalski, Modeselektor, and Michael Mayer.
He has released three studio albums prior to that, namely Superimpose and Zeit in 2001 and Self in 2004. Here's what he has to say about his live sets, according to an interview he has given to Paris' Rex Club, where he will play on Nov. 23rd : "When I play live, I give everything I have. There you go : boom !". His only stop in Montreal (out of four appearances in North America) will take place at Lobby Bar, on Nov. 10th, where he will perform a live set. Opening for him, Clifford Brown & JohnG will do a death match tag team, and curly angel Thomas Von Party will close the night with a bang. Kalkbrenner begins early, around 12:30, so don't sleep on this one. Lobby Bar also has a very limited capacity so that's one more reason why you should be there early.
