heres the set up,
mixer recording into computer (rca wire to back of computer), simple nuff?
but for some reason recording messes with the cross fader, what i mean by that is the right side of the fader works fine on the main system but the sound in the computer (speakers +soundforge)is fucked (as if fader only works on 1 side), so i bought a new cross fader, same problem still...
anyone have any ideas? suggestions? thanks lots+

and also, what mixer are you using?? just to give us a visual.. a link to the mixer would be the best..

What software are you using also?? these are all HUGE factors..

The thing with recording is that there's always problems.. I get a BUZzzzz noise when i record on mine.

Here's an idea:
Double click the volume controll to get the full panel, click Options, then Properties, then change from Adjust Volume for: Playback, to recording, then hit OK.
Look at the check boxes under the volume faders and make sure you've selected whatever source you're plugged into.

Maybe the wire is fucked up? That's been the source of countless problems trying to record stuff for me.

i dunno, cuz if i switch it over to record onto a tape deck prob still happens, must be the right channel, only thing is,if that was the problem, then when i reverse the xfader, problem should still happen on the opposite side no?
damn technology!

I don't think so. If it is the right chan. on just that one input, maybe you need the mixer fixed.
