sushi is easy to make..the trick is to get the rice just right..needs to sit and cool off for a whole day...
california roles are easy except maybe the egg...

if you look around u can shop for some that is really good but cheap! I love sushi..I go almost every weekend..:)
I prefer the veggie sushi and some shrimp...like tempura..mmm

You can make the rice very easily and quickly. There are two methods, whichever one you pick you need to use sticky rice which can be found at any asian store, you can also buy it at iga but they charge 50 times more for no reason. If you have a rice cooker you cook the sticky rice in there, it just takes a few minutes to cook and then you let it sit for 5 minutes or there is also a method that asian people use where you cook the rice in a plastic bag. I never used the plastic bag method but im sure its pretty straight forward and quick. You can buy the seaweed papers in any asian store also. You'll also need a little bamboo matt thing to press and roll the sushi, also can be found at any asian store, just ask if you dont know what it looks like. So you put your seaweed paper on your bamboo matt and then you spread a thin layer of sticky rice onto the bamboo paper, put whatever you want inside on top of the sticky rice and then fold the bamboo paper around it into a circular shape and apply pressure. Remove the bamboo matt and then you will have a sushi roll which you can slice into smaller little sushis.

the overnight method of makign sticky rice is considered better but with a rice cooker it tastes just as good to me and its fast.

you also forgot to mention that its better to wrap the bamboo with suran wrap, because the rice is very annoying to wash off the matt.
also when you put the rice on the seaweed, you always leave like a inch free space at the top of the paper so you can make the the roll stick better (add water at the top to make the seaweed stick)

always have a bowl of water next to you so you can rince you fingers, and use to stick the sushi. you can also do the inside out roll for sushi, but thta salittle trickier

you can make a sauce for the rice which consists of sugar and rice vinegar

it`s not necessary tho
