 Coolness: 685665 | Well, there's Stone Sour, which only gained some popularity after Slipknot's sucess. They were all in a bunch of diffrent local bands that never really went anywhere. The only one that had some success before Slipknot was the DJ, who's DJ Starscream on N2O recordings. He's a gabber/hardcore/DnB/turntablist DJ.
After Slipknot also came the Murderdolls, with the the drummer on guitar (and doing the drums on the album) and the other guitarist was in Dope and is current Static-X's guitarist as well. The Roadrunner Records thing is great, has members of a ton of bands (including Slipknot) all on roadrunner together. Probably the best metal album I've heard in a long time. It's got nu-metal mixed with deathmetal mixed with everything you can think of that's metal. Blackmetal guitarists soloing, numetal rythms, singers from all over the spectrum. King Diamond is even on it. |
