Drug Acceptance

I don't do drugs or drink or smoke. I like going out and dancing, I've tried everything, I just have more fun sober.
I go to rave-clubs, aftehours, and sketchy after parties. People around me are high. It dosent bother me. Why do people care so much what others do to have a good time? Let them enjoy themselves. Ask if peopl are ok if they look like they are not, if they're right triped out play with them, and if they're just having fun dont let it bring you down. Too often I hear people criticize others lifestyles and choices. Makes me mad |

People don't seem to understand the concept of FREEDOM OF CHOICE. They're too busy thinking of how much better you would be if you were exactly like them that they fail to realise that maybe we don't WANT to be like them because they're just as flawed and fucked up as the rest of us. |

well the fact that I was not doing pills and stuff when I first started raving made me a weird novelty... Now it's not so bad really... |

tipsy and fred (screwhead)
both make very valide points. watching a good friend slowly kill themselves is really hard. its almost impossible to not say something. and some times people need to be shown what they are doing to themselves. and others are stuck in the mindset that they are better then everyone else and that their way of doing things is the right way. |

Word. I don't mind seeing someone snort K, or drop 10-pills in one night... I may question their actions, but I wouldn't judge them, because I AM just as fucked up doing my own thing. But at the same time, I hate seeing someone get to the point where they've changed completely over drugs. And I think at that point it is fair to step in and say "Hey, you need to stop." |

Well, there's obviously 2 diffrent levels of things: The kids doing pills at parties for fun once in a while, and the crackheads who end up popping 10-15 pills a week and going through vials of K like they were filled with air...
One of these is doing the same thing, with the same reasons, as most people who drink recreationally: RECREATION The other is destroying their life because they've moved from the point where drugs are fun to do occasionally, to the point where drugs are needed to get by (much like, say, that cigarette your willing to kill for right now? Your morning coffee that you can't wake up without?) |

Respect and acceptance of people's choices is very important in the scheme of things. But sometimes, people don't see what may have got them where they are in the first place. It can be good to step in but if you do not accept and respect the person's decision -- well, good luck trying to get through to them. |

There's a big diffrence between chosing to do drugs every once in a while, and HAVING to do them because your addicted.
Recreational use, man, knock yourself out! Just know how to controll yourself, what your limits are, etc., because it's a thin line between recreation and addiction. |
