| Judaism is very internalist as opposed to CHristianity and Islam, which thrive on converting anyone
for some branches of Judaism you can convert and be considered a true Jew, but even so, the conversion is a long process of learning the holy texts and ritual and actually being tested (as opposed to jew-by-blood who are just welcomed and can learn at their own pace), plus of course you have to kiss your foreskin goodbye (not necessarily literally :b)
for some of the more strict orthodox sects, you can never be a Jew if you havent been born one (which means your mother or at least your grandma on mothers side had to be jewish), but those are a minority
heh.. its funny, my gramps from mom's side is actually jewish. so i can join anytime.. na na na... but fuck it who wants to not be able to have sex or go out on friday nights anyways |
