 Coolness: 56195 | In one of the forums someone said to me that one of the users would like to "rape cinderella soul(me) with a meat grinder.
I, then, responded by posting a "funny pic" of a man, naked, on a beach, wearing only 2 sombrero's. I attached a note on the side saying tell her I'm waiting for her. But that she'll have to foot the bill. I thought it was pretty funny at the time. But then I started thinking about how I feel about serious issues being joked about. You see, sometimes, I realize it can be a good thing to joke about "heavy" subjects. It can help with stress, right?!!! But sometimes, joking about "heavy" subjects takes on a different form-- to evade or ignore the heavy subject. I personally was not offended by my comment and I have been raped. I, also, treat rape as a serious issue. Despite what many may think. More than joking about right, I appreciate opening a dialogue for people to talk about this very real social issue that takes it's root in dysfunctional systems. I just wanted to share my thoughts on this and welcome anyone else to share their views on the above. |
