| Yeah you've totally forgotten totake into account 3rd edition rules.
Although a crossbow bolt only does 1d4 damage, you take into account a 1d6 magic missle enchantment and a saving throw vs close range damage which is a X2 damage modifier. Since he failed that the bolt could do anywhere between 2 to 20 hit points worth of damage. |

Though the envibility to be struck with a close range arrow, no matter how low your THACO is, you're fucked. |

| in fact...there no saving throw VS magic missile...and it's 1d4 + 1 per new caster la(2d4+2 when the caster get is lvl 2 spells,3d4+3 when he got is lvl 3 spells...etc)...and for the bow you can add your str modifer to the dmg.
3 edition of D&D rock...you can do anything....and you can't put a spell on an arrow except if your an arcane archer...:P |
