VOICI SA BIO

In 2004 Adam Sheridan was voted at number 136 in DJ Mag's poll for the best DJs in the world. Adam is quite possibly the youngest entry into the DJ Mag Poll and the 21 year old is also the youngest ever DJ to record a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix (Jan 04), which was commended for its diversity and innovation and has well and truly launched Adam on the world stage. Adam Sheridan has since received such praise as "one of the UK's best hard house and trance DJ's" from Pete Tong and "I rate Adam Sheridan as a DJ, he's got a great future" from Paul van Dyk and so his Essential mix marked the beginning of a breakthrough into the league of top British talent.

In 2003, Adam Sheridan was deemed the Best Undiscovered Talent by two of the top five DJs in the world - Paul van Dyk and Ferry Corsten. Throughout 2003 and 2004, Adam has risen through the ranks and has now become one of the most accomplished and sought-after new talents to emerge from the UK. His unique style of three deck mixing and crossing genres from Trance to Techno, as well as highly acclaimed production, has grabbed the attention of clubbers, promoters and his DJ peers and has propelled Adam from undiscovered to distinguished!

Adam's technical ability and polished production has resulted in ongoing support from some of the world's biggest DJs and also from the music press, having been voted one of Mixmag's Future Heroes at the start of this year. He was handpicked by Paul van Dyk to play alongside him at the first Vandit party, outside of Berlin, at Heaven in London and also after Tiesto at Cream at the breathtaking Amnesia, Ibiza. In 2004 he has also played regularly alongside Ferry Corsten and has performed with Armin van Buuren at Godskitchen in Birmingham. There are few young DJs who can boast playing alongside, and also receiving support from, the biggest DJs in the world. 2004 has also seen Adam perform on the main stage at the renowned Creamfields Festival and regularly play the biggest and best clubs throughout the UK, such as Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Turnmills, Inside Out, Slinky, Passion, Garlands and of course Goodgreef, where it all began! Adam also frequently performs at different venues across the globe and is signed to Dutch record label Purple Eye, alongside Ferry Corsten.

Adam's passion for dance music began at a very early age, staying up late to listen to Essential Mixes when he was just 11 and becoming especially interested in Sasha and Carl Cox. Adam says he enjoyed the "energy and feeling" the music gave him and he purchased his first record Gat Decor - Passion and first set of decks at only 12 years old. Adam quickly developed a taste for being creative with the music, using techniques and effects to make the music original and personalised. Growing up in the Leeds suburb of Morley meant that Adam was a regular at the underground but renowned The Orbit club by the age of 15, where he saw the likes of Sven Vath, CJ Bolland and Westbam - all of which influenced the early development of Adam's style. However, although Techno and house were his first love, he also greatly admired the more melodic sound which dance music could offer, and in particular Paul van Dyk whom he frequently saw at Gatecrasher (when the doormen decided he looked old enough to be allowed in!). This young enthusiasm for the dance scene has helped shape Adam's unique, contemporary sound of "dirty, driving, techy beats and melodies which make your spine tingle!"

The first gig which Adam played was at age 15 at the first ever Goodgreef event in Manchester, after his friend passed a distinctive mix tape to the up and coming promoter. After his short one hour set, Adam was offered a residency which he still holds today and sees him regularly play the UK's largest venue, Tall Trees.

At this early stage in his career Adam began composing his own music. His regular trips to Gatecrasher to see Paul van Dyk heavily influenced his production work, as Adam was amazed by Paul's ability to control and move the crowd with his unique sound. The inspiration from PVD was so great that Adam set about creating his first track which he then passed to him at a subsequent Gatecrasher set on his 18th Birthday. Later in the night, the 12" acetate was dropped by PVD ... and so did Adam's jaw! This was the defining moment which launched Adam's drive and determination to succeed as a DJ/Producer!

Following on from this, Adam began to play a variety of venues around the UK and as word spread around, his growing reputation earned him a residency at Birmingham superclub, Sundissential. Within a year, Adam was regularly performing at some of the biggest clubs in the UK such as Godskitchen, Slinky and Goodgreef, while his production work reached a new level. Teaming up with a fellow young, talented producer and dance music-enthusiast Joe Thompson, enabled Adam to progress with music production and it was a dream realised to begin work in a studio.

The first notable track to come out of the partnership was Lektrik, a pumping and uplifting trance track which was the result of many late nights, several disagreements but plenty of enjoyment. The making of Lektrik proved to be a challenging learning curve and the promotion work was even harder, but has certainly In an attempt to give the track to Ferry Corsten, who was playing a gig at Passion, Adam and Joe experienced a flat tyre, running out of Diesel and a gig in Hull! Eventually the track was given to Ferry and by the Monday morning was signed to Purple Eye Entertainment, which was yet another dream come true for Adam. The next release by Adam was a remix of a good friend's track - Simon Foy's Boxed Off - which represents the more upbeat side of Adam's sound.

As a result of Lektrik, which has been supported by some of the biggest names in dance, Adam's career has progressed immensely and he has gained notoriety throughout the globe. His second release Crescendo / Terminal Velocity is already receiving similar attention with lots of radio play from some of the biggest names in dance music such as Paul Van Dyk, Eddie Halliwell, BBC Radio 1's Dave Pearce and Galaxy FM's Paul Kershaw & Riley & Durrant. To date, the track has reached number 15 is the DMC world trance chart. Adam's huge production success is set to continue with his forthcoming remix of the global trance anthem Nu Nrg's Dreamland and further releases on Purple Eye in early 2005.

2005 is definitely set to Adam's biggest year to date as he has already secured dates at the some of the UK's biggest festivals including Coloursfest and Escape In The Park and also the Godskitchen & Goodgreef MEN Arena show. He has been requested to perform a minimum of 4 dates at Cream at Amnesia in Ibiza after 2004's breathtaking performance. He will also be gracing the main stage at Impulz Festival in The Netherlands. Throughout 2005, Adam will continue to perform at the UK's biggest and best clubs and all of his performances will feature exclusive tracks and remixes performed using Abelton Live.

It is Adam's passion and enthusiasm for dance culture which continually attracts the attention and admiration of clubbers, as people can easily identify with his love for the music. "Dance music is such a huge part of my life. I love the fact that it forms a global community and I'm very glad to be a part of that community."
