For four years, the infamous and much loved Broken Crew have steadily built a place for their ultra-charged sound in the Montreal music scene. It is their mandate to present quality breakbeat events that go against the grain of Montreal’s traditionally house, hip-hop and techno-dominated parties. Since the beginning, Broken Crew has been dedicated to low prices, low frequency driven music, top quality bookings and a friendly, high-energy vibe. Their persistent passion for breakbeats paved the way for many groundbreaking and memorable parties, not to mention an enthusiastic following.
Founding member Poontz makes use of deep and heavy low-end frequencies combined with involved mixing techniques to keep the dance-floor moving. His background as a studio technician is reflected in his refined selection of high quality, well produced sounds that span hip-hop, house, drum & bass and minimal influences.
Rounding out the crew is Melon, who’s bumping, pop-infused electro-funk is the fuel for the freaks on the dance floor. His newest mix CD “Equal Parts Madness” showcases his superb mixing ability and the fine line he walks between abstract and accessible dance music. |
