reaktor is a cpu whore. not a big fan.

I like scorpion. Its a pretty basic synth but it does all my basic 80's sounds
I'm feeling lonely right now..

Reaktor is well worth the cpu.

It's a fantastic tool if you know how to use it right...

Absynth comes in handy. I've been using bassbox for dark basslines - it's a pretty simple subtractive synth with ADSR, but it gives some mean sounds for buildups. Battery is good, but I find it taxes the CPU, so a lot of times I'll bounce all the drums to audio and drop them in impulse. dBlue glitch is good, but I've had it crash live a few times, so I like Lucifer more.

Dave: next time someone gives you an account.. start by downloading lots of smaller things (500 mgs and less) that are fresh from that day that have low seed count and high dL count, even if its not something you want or need.. you have 72 hours once you open a new account and start dowloading to build up your ratio to 1:1 or better... when I started, I lucked out by dling the latest version of logic that was fresh posted.. took 2 hours to download but there were 800 people who wanted it, I had a few gigs open in no time and never got the boot.

I was actually planning on using this one during my live show... It didn't crash on me yet, but I would HATE it to happen during my set. Lucifer is a good alternative? What does it do?

I love Glitch, but I find it would be too random for live use.. I run it on a beat/sample for 2 minutes, change the settings, do it again, etc., untill I've got anywhere from 3-6 WAVs and then I chop out the best bits and make loops/sequences with those.
I'm feeling bleh right now..

It can be pretty random indeed, but it can also be used effectively (if used sparingly) during a live set for interesting fills and variations, which fits just nicely in the kind of electro I want to play live. Of course, I wouldn't just leave it on "random" mode hehe... However, its stability is UPMOST important for obvious reasons. It hasn't crashed on me yet, but I'm still scared hehe. :)
