not all jazz is freeform, there is a kind of Jazz thats freeform, guess what its called...

Freeform Jazz

As for the trance debacle, It takes a lot of talent and love for the kind of music you make to really make it good. An audience respects an artist and a song when they(the audience) hear a song that the artist obviously poured his heart into. It shows in the music, whatever genre it is, could be U2 or it could Miles Davis or it could be Tiesto. All of these artists are very popular in their genres and it is becuase they are very talented and the people they associated themselves with are people that want them to be heard(and make some money).

beleive it or not but most jazz is really formulaic. I mean 80% of jazz follows a standard 12 bar blues progression. Doesn't get much more formulaiec than that .

anyways this is pointless. I think the time here would be much better spent making fun of Neoform's avatar picture

i would not call someone that constently train wrecks and gets people to make his music talented. The only thing Tiesto has is a pretty face and timing.

This is fucked!! If id make fucking 90,000$ a fucking night spinning trance and some fags would come up and tell me off, id buy them each a bottle of Crystal...and then drop em one by one on the fucking floor in front of them! You know why? because you can! You certainly can with trance. Paul Oakenfold sucks....really dont like his mixes but DAMN he's rich!! so who cares!!
werdd!

You're thinking of paul van dyk, he trainwrecks all the time, cheats by using recordings and gets helpers to mix for him, much like oakenfold..

tiesto's actually got a bit of talent, but mostly when it comes to production. same deal with armin van buuren, but armin's better.

besides, i can think of plenty of "good" techno djs that trainwreck all the time..

I hate to break it down to y'all but Hip Hop is the best example. All that Bling-Bling imagery ? It's pretty clear talent and artistic value is the last thing on their list but hey, white people dig it and the shit sells ( rewind b4 that Casio-generated-monkeys-on-K crap you hear today. The Amen break. Bring that shit back. )

And I have to agree with Neo on that last comment. Tiesto can mix his way out of any club and I've seen DJs - overseas ones or not - trainwreck in all styles possible. It's worse when the DJ's popular, jetlagged and pissed drunk/high.

i have seen tiesto many times and his mixing is very par. Nothing that sets him above any good local.

i think just as much pop is made for money as hip hop, and pop has been made for money since like, the 50's....

I never hated Trance....I mean, when I started raving, I was listening to Techno and House and it took me like a year into the scene before even knowing what it was....then, I just didnt care for it....I never loved it either but I can't say that I hate ALL Trance either like Neoform said on the 1st page but I'm not in love with it ....oh wait Neoform is wrong, I do hate all HHC...fuck that! I mean what? I mean what's the deal?! Is it supposed to be funny? Cute? cause I just feel like I have an annoying little kid who wont stop screaming next to me and that's why I wanna be sterile, thanks a lot HHC!
