RESEARCH LIBERTARIAN HISTORY

Re: "Vote for Repeal of Smoking Ordinance" (A-J, 4-14).

Russell King has replaced David DeLamar as chairman of the Lubbock County
Libertarian Party, but their rhetoric remains the same, namely, property
rights for a few versus health rights for us all. I believe in any adult's
right to smoke but their rights end when their smoke reaches my nose.

If you do your research and understand the history of the Libertarian Party
you will discover that a major plank in their national platform has always
been the legalization of marijuana. So, they not only believe in smoking in
public but, also, smoking marijuana. Is this their end game and ultimate
objective here?

You have the privilege of voting conservative, not Libertarian, on May 4 by
voting against their referendum. Cut through their smokescreen and do what
is right for your own health and that of your loved ones.

I reside in District 5, with my mailing address in Wolfforth.
