Pointed comment:

After reading your column (about "The Needle Lady") I have no doubt
about whose brain is in the wrong place - it's yours. Drugs aren't
good for you. But the real problem in America is NOT drug use but the
so-called war on drugs, the cause of most of the social problems we
see today. The real problem is not drug users; they are victims. If
just half the resources we spend on fighting drugs (without any
success at all) could be diverted into treatment, prevention and
education our society would be FAR better off.

I don't care what people do with their own bodies, but don't enable
them with free supplies. As far as your painting addicts as "victims,"
try to hand me that line the next time I read another police report
about a crack baby.
