LOLLIE RESEMBLING DRUG CAUSES CONCERN
Concerns have been raised about a new type of lollie that closely resembles
an ecstasy tablet.
A subsidiary of chocolate maker, Cadbury, has produced the lollie called
Trebor 24-7, which are the same size and colour of ecstasy.
Paul Dillon from the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre says he is
worried the lollie is being marketed towards teenagers and early adults who
are very influenced by trends.
"I think there are consequences of this. It's much like the cigarette
lollies that we had years ago," he said.
"To move into a lollie that looks like a pill is I think a great concern."
Cadbury Schweppes could not be reached for comment.
