A FAIR TO FIGHT DRUGS

Rain or shine, the 12th annual Drug Free Fair will be held Saturday.

Organized by the Cranbury School Drug Free Fair Committee and the Cranbury
Municipal Alliance Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse, the event provides a day
of activities that are both fun and educational. It is funded by the
Municipal Alliance, Cranbury Lions Club and private donations.

The event will be held at the Cranbury School from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"The Municipal Alliance's primary purpose is to encourage all children to
be free of substance abuse," said Municipal Alliance member Sheree Dunnett.
"This will be a fun day for families and a way to promote this message."

A drug sniffing dog demonstration will be provided by the Mercer County
Police Academy. In addition, the Cranbury Police Department will be on hand
with fatal vision goggles to demonstrate the effects of drugs and alcohol
on an individual.

The day also will feature entertainment, including a performance by the
Princeton Ballet and a magician. The Cranbury Business and Professional
Association has hired Ultrax DJ, which will provide musical entertainment
throughout the day.

Organizations and businesses throughout Cranbury, including the First Aid
Squad, Volunteer Fire Company, Arts Council and School PTO, will sell
refreshments or provide a fun game or craft.

A new addition to this year's Drug Free Fair will be the teen tent, which
will only be open to children in grades six through eight. "This will be an
area for them to socialize with their friends, relax and listen to the DJ,"
said Carol Clumbis of the Drug Free Fair Committee.
