NEVADA: COURT OVERTURNS DRUG LAW

A state law that outlaws possession of many of the materials used in
manufacturing methamphetamine was declared unconstitutional by the State
Supreme Court. The court, ruling in two Washoe County cases, said it
recognized the "evil" that the law intended to prevent, but said the law
lacked an "intent element" and thus imposed criminal sanctions on what was
otherwise noncriminal activity. (AP)
