JUSTICE SYSTEM TREATS CRIMINALS TOO LIGHTLY

Re: Some gangsters beyond hope Oct. 27

It is shocking to read about shootings and other criminal activities
just about every day. Too much criminal activity is being accepted by
our justice system and society.

Criminals are being given very light sentences and, in most cases,
they are repeat offenders. They get a light sentence and quickly
return to selling illegal drugs and making money. Criminals lure
young guys into these illegal activities by promising they'll get
rich with quick money.

Repeat offenders should be given hard, long sentences so they will be
sorry for what they did and be afraid of committing more crimes.
Young offenders have to be scared of imprisonment, and not just think
of jail time as a paid vacation.
