N.H. MAY MAKE ALLERGY, COLD PILLS HARDER TO GET

CONCORD, N.H. - New Hampshire's top law enforcement chiefs have
formed a task force to fight the growing methamphetamine industry.

They want to make it harder for methamphetamine makers to acquire the
ingredients for the drug. That may mean putting some common cold and
allergy medications behind pharmacists' counters since they contain a
chemical used in making methamphetamine.

Medications containing pseudoephedrine - such as Sudafed and
Claritin-D - can be bought without a prescription.

Some pharmacies already have put the medications behind their
counters to limit quantities purchased at a time.
