WHAT ABOUT HELP FOR DRUG VICTIMS?

Great article by Chilliwack Times reporter Mike Chouinard on the
"recovering addict."

I have known many addicts through family, friends and business,
ranging from street derelicts to well-educated professionals. (That's
right, include straight-A students and athletes). Cold fact: addicts
are controlled by chemicals and you cannot reason with a chemical.

Addicts are manipulators. They can and will drag you down financially
and emotionally.

They will cry, cheat, lie ("never again"), steal and assault to get
their fix.

Friends and families are quietly abused every day by addicts. The
abused think "what did I do wrong?" while the addict thinks "how can I
get away with this?"

The victims of addicts deserve support and counselling, not the
predators.
