BONHAM - Bonham police assisted the Drug Enforcement Administration in the
apprehension of David Wayne Stanley, 37 of Bonham. Officers arrested the

Denison Police Chief Jim Lovell declined to discuss Stanley's tenure with
the department other than to say that he was employed at Denison PD from
September 1993 to October 2001.

The arresting officers took Stanley into custody on a warrant from the
United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas, charging him with
conspiracy to distribute or posses with intent to distribute or dispense
methamphetamine. At the time of arrest, they allegedly found him in
possession of a large amount of methamphetamine ICE.

Stanley is held in the custody of the Federal Marshall Service pending his
appearance in U.S. District Court.
