WHY THE FUSS OVER MARIJUANA BOOKS?

Re: "Bud Lit," The Journal, Nov. 21.

I don't know a lot of children who read The Journal, so I am not too
worried about articles on marijuana warping any young impressionable minds.

It seems to me that people who complain about articles on marijuana
in the mainstream media think people are nothing but mindless magnets
who can't form their own opinions on these issues.

I am a 27-year-old casual pot smoker, who can hold down a job, hang
out in public with my friends, talk to my family, and form my own opinions.

I welcome stories like this in the media as they give parents and
children a chance to talk about marijuana in more of a relaxed
atmosphere. Sadly, I fear that people who are against any sort of
exposure to these issues are afraid or incapable of talking to their
children and treating them like young adults.

Marijuana is not going away. Let's take it out of the back alleys and
bring it around, or even on, the dinner table.
