SOLANCO MAKES CHANGES TO DRUG-TESTING POLICY
On Nov. 14 the Solanco school board approved revisions to its drug
testing policy.
The amendment would be effective next year and each signature
received would carry through all four years of high school. Parents
could opt their children out of the program if the child is a minor,
but children over 18-years-old would be able to sign themselves out
of the program.
In other news, a motion was requested to accept the compromise claim
negeotiated in the Owens Corning bankruptcy case. The school board
approved the Solicitor's Office to amend the districts claim to
$22,809. Timothy J. Shrom, business manager said "We were buying
banks that had problems and we had to make a decision not to file.
This puts us in the cue, because otherwise, we don't know how much
money we would receive."
