UNDERMINING SULLIVAN HAS BECOME A BLOOD SPORT
Re: Chief felt 'obliged' to seek probe of mayor-elect, Nov. 30
I wasn't aware that if I give money to someone who is begging on the
street -- or anyone else does -- I would be guilty of a criminal
offence if the recipient uses the money to purchase drugs. What about
giving money to a squeegee kid? Is that a criminal offence as well?
I don't know how many people are as sickened as I am by the
witch-hunt against Vancouver mayor-elect Sam Sullivan of the
Non-Partisan Association. First, it was the confusion of the names
James/Jim Green. This has been followed by a review of Sullivan's
past conduct by the RCMP, at the instigation of "unbiased" Vancouver
Police Chief Jamie Graham. I was under the impression that if an
election was won democratically, the loser accepts the loss graciously.
Obviously, this is not the case in Vancouver. The attacks on Sullivan
have become a blood sport.
